FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 15, 1997
WEBSITE PROFESSIONAL 2.0 WILL SHIP WITH iHTML
MERCHANT AND iHTML PROFESSIONAL
Server Software Includes Full E-Commerce Capabilities,
Powerful HTML Extensions
Sebastopol, CA--WebSite Professional(TM) 2.0, the
next generation of the award-winning web server software, will
ship with new software which provides a complete merchant solution,
and greatly expands the web developer's ability to create dynamic,
data-base driven sites designed for electronic commerce, O'Reilly
& Associates has announced.
When WebSite Professional 2.0 ships this September,
iHTML Merchant and iHTML Professional, two software programs from
Inline Internet Systems, Inc., will be bundled with the product.
At a suggested list price of $799, WebSite Professional 2.0 will
offer capabilities available only in packages which cost thousands
of dollars more. iHTML Merchant and iHTML Professional will be
available on the Windows platform exclusively as part of the WebSite
Professional package. A third Inline program, iHTML Transfusion,
a Cold Fusion converter, will be available as a stand-alone product.
iHTML Merchant is designed for any business needing
to sell via the Web. Completely and easily customizable simply
by editing HTML pages, iHTML Merchant features a catalog, a shopping
cart, Web-based credit card validation using CyberCash (with or
without customer wallets), automatic tax and shipping calculations, secure transactions,
and support for unlimited numbers of products and stores. iHTML
Merchant can increase sales through banner ad rotation and dynamic
graphical sales reports, and is easily administered through the
browser.
iHTML Professional, a powerful, streamlined scripting
language, extends Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) while it eliminates
hours of programming. It enables web developers to add dynamic
functions and graphics to their pages, readable in any browser,
simply by adding HTML-type tags to documents. Designed specifically
for the Web, iHTML Professional is built on such core technologies
as dynamic web graphics, for generating graphs, charts, and overlay
images in real time; Web-to-database access, for ODBC database
access on the fly; and Back Page processing technology, which
allows pages to be processed in the background, on developer-determined
schedules.
iHTML Transfusion is a customized utility which seamlessly
translates Cold Fusion 2.0 files to iHTML files. The iHTML Professional
engine included with Web Site Professional will then interpret
the iHTML files and perform the same functionality as if they
were running with the Cold Fusion engine.
"Our alliance with Inline provides our customers
with critical new features and functions," says Kimberly
Simoni, Product Manager, WebSite Professional. "The WebSite
Professional 2.0 package now will be the most robust electronic
commerce server suite available anywhere near its price range,
for all types of secure sites."
Russ Cobbe, President of Inline Internet Systems,
concurs. "Inline is very excited to be bringing our best-of-breed
products together with WebSite Professional. I think our partnership
with O'Reilly, which has a unique position in the Windows web
server market, is great news for customers who need to expand
the dynamic capabilities of their sites and sell online."
O'Reilly & Associates will be highlighting WebSite
Professional 2.0, including the Inline software, at the WebSite
User Conference, August 20-21, 1997, San Jose, CA. Further information
